Dorothy lives on a small farm in Kansas with Aunt Em and Uncle Henry. When a cyclone hits, Dorothy and her dog, Toto, are washed up on the farm. They land in a strange place where a good witch and some tiny people called Munchkins welcome them. Dorothy's house has landed on (and killed) the Wicked Witch of the East. Dorothy hopes the Wizard of Oz can get her back to Kansas, so she hits the yellow brick road. Soon, Dorothy and Toto meet the Scarecrow. He desperately wants a brain, so he joins them on their journey. Next, they meet the Tin Woodman, who tells them his story of how he was once human and how he longs to have a heart again. Dorothy tells him that the Wizard of Oz can help him, so the Tin Man joins them. While going through a forest, they meet the Cowardly Lion. Though he tries to scare them off at first, he admits that he is a coward and wishes he had the courage the King of Beasts should have. He joins the travelers in the hope that the Wizard of Oz can help him too.
In London in 1872, a man named Phileas Fogg makes a bet with his friends that he can travel the entire planet in eighty days. The bet? More than half of his considerable fortune, and exactly the same amount of money that was stolen from a nearby bank the day before. Fogg rushes off in the company of Passepartout, his personal assistant, on a journey that will take the two men around the world by all known means of transportation. Little does Fogg know that a cunning detective is following his globe-trotting steps.
